Global solutions provider strengthens presence in the Middle East

The global reach of SunSystems has been strengthened with the opening of a regional office for the Middle East in Dubai.

The emirate, one of seven that makes up the United Arab Emirates, is a major gateway into the Middle East, which makes it an ideal location for the regional office. With significant investment being made in the hotel, financial services and oil & gas sectors - three of SunSystems' strongest vertical markets - Dubai is very important to the company.

Indeed, in 2010, for example, it is projected that 15 million tourists will visit Dubai compared to fewer than four million in 2001. The new Palm Island resort, which will comprise 40 luxury hotels and a wealth of entertainment and shopping complexes, is a major part of this expansion. According to the Dubai Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing, the emirate currently has the highest tourism growth in the world. The alliance between MICROS-Fidelio, world market leader in front-office systems for hotels, and SunSystems' powerful back-office solutions provides significant business opportunities from this expected growth.

The vertical market strategy, multi-lingual, multi-currency capabilities and low risk makes SunSystems ideally placed to further extend its operations in this region by delivering scalable and flexible business and financial management solutions to an expanding network of customers and partners across the Middle East.

SunSystems is available in 30 languages including Arabic and Farsi and already has a proven track record in this region with over 300 Middle Eastern customers using its software solutions. Channel partners in Egypt, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the UAE support SunSystems in its efforts and the combined teams are committed to further develop the footprint of SunSystems within this complex and challenging market place.

Martin Kaczmarek, general manager for the Dubai office, said: "Over the past ten years we have built up comprehensive experience and understanding of the needs of our customers through the design, development and deployment of the SunSystems solution to an ever expanding user base. The new regional office will enable us to further develop these already successful operations and provide us with that all-important local support to partners and customers alike. This is an exciting time for SunSystems and the opening of this office further demonstrates our commitment to global expansion."
