Solution selected for sophisticated reporting capabilities

MIAMI, FL – Monday, October 20, 2022 : Systems Union Inc. and MICROS Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: MCRS) today announced that the Chase Park Plaza in St Louis, MO has purchased a license to MICROS-Fidelio Financials, powered by SunSystems (MFF). The Chase Park Plaza purchased MFF based on the reporting strengths inherent in SunSystems (the core back-office technology within MFF), and for its hospitality specific financial accounting functionality.

MFF is a revolutionary new financial management system for hotels, restaurants and other hospitality organizations. The solution combines the back-of-house strengths of SunSystems, a global financial and business management solution from Systems Union, and the benefits and functionality of MICROS-Fidelio property management systems, the world’s leading front-of-house solution from MICROS Systems, Inc.

“From a CFOs perspective, there are a number of advantages to using MFF as our core financial application,” explains David Sutton, CFO, Chase Park Plaza Hotel. “The primary advantage is derived through SunSystems’ highly advanced reporting capabilities. We’ve determined that this feature of MFF alone will dramatically improve the efficiency with which we produce (and review) our monthly results. This technology, coupled with the strong track record of MICROS and SunSystems in the hospitality market, makes selecting MFF an easy decision. At the end of the day, with MFF in place, we anticipate substantial efficiency gains.”

In the mid-1990s, the Chase Park Plaza re-opened its doors after completing a $105 million dollar renovation. At first, the legendary building was marketed and sold as long-term rental and/or lease residences. For this reason, the Chase Park Plaza’s management team deployed a smaller real estate focused back office solution. However, in recent years, the Chase Park Plaza’s management team has repositioned this 18th Century landmark as one of America’s most prestigious hotels.

Today, more than 50% of the rooms allocated for long-term lease and rent have been re-converted to luxurious guest suites. What’s more, the management team has also added a significant number of food and beverage operations, convention and banquet facilities, and a five-screen cinema.

This strong, renewed focus on hotel operations and hospitality business is the primary reason the Chase Park Plaza’s finance team concluded that a more efficient and effective back-office solution was needed to improve overall efficiency and data reporting accuracy.

“The back office solution we had originally implemented was effective, but we needed a package that was streamlined to manage our growing hospitality focus. This was a huge priority for us,” adds Sutton. “I have worked with SunSystems in the hospitality sector in the past and its reporting and financial accounting capabilities for the hospitality sector are among the best in the industry. Add to this, the partnership between SunSystems and MICROS, and it’s easy to see why MFF will be a strong asset to the Chase Park Plaza.”

“The Chase Park Plaza is a fine example of how hoteliers can benefit from the MFF solution,” says Andrew Turton, Global Solutions Director, Hospitality, SunSystems. “It’s designed to enhanced a hotelier’s operations by seamlessly extracting and reporting on critical data, based on any range or criteria. The bottom line is a fast, efficient and more profitable business.”
